 The studio-quality AT3031, a low-profile cardioid condenser microphone from Audio-Technica and is renowned for a flat, extended frequency response, high maximum SPL and wide dynamic range. Its low self-noise (16 dB SPL) is perfectly suited for the most sophisticated recording equipment. Overall, this is a great micropone for both recording and live applications on instruments such as acoustic guitars, violins, and other stringed instruments. Try it out even as an overhead mic for drums and percussion or a hi-hat mic and it will perform great due to its high transient response.
